Meet the Baker

Hi, my name is Jenny Carter and I’m the Ruapuke Baker. I live and work at the homestead my family built in Ruapuke over a century ago. We have built a reputation in the community for our warm hospitality and love of making great food from local produce.

The Ruapuke Bakery is my way of keeping this spirit alive. I’m proud to be able to serve my local community with delicious breads and treats – made by hand, naturally and authentically, just the way it should be.

It’s great to be able to drop a loaf in people’s letterbox as I drive to our shop in the heart of Raglan. It reminds me of the traditions that keep rural communities thriving!

I have a strong connection with Ruapuke and its people. I hope one day to write a cookery book with all the old rural recipes that fed our pioneering ancestors. I hope you enjoy browsing my site, and feel free to pop by for a chat and some warm homemade bread soon at 15 Bow Street.
